Almut: Why are you in such a hurry?
Story
An aspiring chef and a recent divorcee discover that their lives have changed forever when a chance meeting unites them in a decade-long, deeply touching romance. When Florence Pugh was unable to attend the film’s premiere due to other filming commitments, Andrew Garfield brought a life-size cutout of her to fill her absence. During the wall in Almut’s candlelit living room, Tobias’ notebook is closed, but in the next shot it is open. Tobias: Because I’m afraid there’s a very clear and real possibility that I’ll fall in love with you.

It’s a Sin, written by Al Hazan, starring Ellie Hazan. I just finished watching the movie “We Live in Time” (2024) and I have to tell you that this is really one of the most emotional and realistic romantic movies I’ve seen in a while. Pros of Life in Time (2024): The lead roles of Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh are phenomenal in this film. This is not surprising, as these two have been nominated for Oscars in the past, and I hope they both receive nominations this year.
What these two characters go through in this film can be touching, devastating, and even healthy, depending on the walls in which these moments take place
I appreciated the fact that this film managed to realistically tell the love story of two strangers who fell in love with each other after the first meeting. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my fair share of romantic movies where two lovers meet in the most cynical and ridiculous way, but I also like it when the movie takes a more realistic approach to these stories. I also appreciated that this film manages to balance these moments to the point where they don’t feel too dramatic or too emotional to the point of being edible. And, finally, I like how the finale of the film manages to avoid all the traditional clichés of other romantic films, but at the same time give the audience the satisfaction that they want to see in this film.
I watch this film only once and that’s it
Mixed for We Live in Time (2024): While I certainly appreciated the path this film took in its plot, there will be people who will probably find this film difficult to watch. Honestly, with the help of this approach, the film achieves its main goals, but it can also hit hard for some people who have gone through similar situations in their lives. Cons of the film “We live in time” (2024): In this area, I can say only one thing about this film, and that is very little. But if this element is the only minus of your film, then it speaks to how good your film is.
Overall, We Live in Time (2024) definitely gave me what I wanted, and I’m very happy
. If Garfield and Pugh don’t get nominated for their roles in this movie, I’ll be very disappointed in the Academy. Anyway, if you’re looking for a romantic movie that feels really realistic in its approach to history, this is the movie for you.
