Gunn then greenlit the project himself when he became CEO of DC Studios

This was the best start to a new franchise ever, with an unknown team full of misfits, you have no doubt that it would be bad, this was definitely an adventure you would want to see over and over again, James Gunn has clearly established himself as the king of comic book adaptations, even for a team that should have been World War II, but this time in a heartbeat I am forever indebted to him for another one of his amazing creations and brains, I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us, giving us true DC justice, without a doubt I will be sitting front row and in my chair at home, James Gunn, if you see this I am there 100% #DCUFOREVER..
