No one mentions Love Actually, a very popular Christmas movie
Story
Helen begins a passionate affair with a man who has no idea of her secret identity. When her lover falls victim to the dangerous London underworld, Helen finds herself in the crosshairs and her employer calls Sam to protect her. There’s a scene where the characters discuss their favorite Christmas movies.
It starts off really well
That’s probably because Keira Knightley is in both. Can be seen in Graham Norton i gosti: Cher/Keira Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Josh Brolin/Jalen Ngonda (2024). It’s one of those standard entertainment shows where you can’t really criticize the acting and the production values are pretty much flawless.
But it’s not one by John Le Carre
You think you’re about to be captivated and seduced by a complex spy thriller. Instead, you soon realize that it’s neither serious nor funny. As is often the case these days, the poor story is the problem.
Sadly disappointing, it could have been really good
There are quirky characters, and characters with all the charm and conversational wit you’d expect from psychopaths. They might be related to Eve from Killing Eve, but they’re just poor relations and don’t really match up well on the scale of DNA psychopath inheritance. It’s a cartoonish spy thriller with a plot that relies on a thin plot and frequent action scenes to fill in the gaps.
